This is My Best Op Shop Find

I have one eye that is always peeled for anything thrifted, especially this time of year. I can spot a yard sale sign from a mile away thats partially covered by a shrub. My love for secondhand treasures started with this little elf night light I bought years and years ago. Over the weekend I found this lonely salt or pepper shaker for only 10 cents. My taste hasn't changed in all these years, I'm still attracted to a slightly creepy aesthetic.

Brirthday Wishlist

My birthday is right around the corner, Friday the 20th. It just so happens to be the first day of summer this year. Nice!

I love making lists, and birthday lists are no exception*.
  • these glasses look eerily familiar
  • a locket
  • a bike tire pump
  • something handmade
  • a signature scent
  • subscription to this magazine
  • a handwritten letter
  • a pyrex mixing bowl
  • a mixed cd

*Note-This list is more for me to look at and dream about, then for others to use as a shopping list.

Bark (part 2)

I made candle holder covers with the white birch bark I picked up. Let me show you how I did it. I washed and dry the bark and soaked it so it would become pliable. Wash and dry the candle holders too.
Apply acrylic gel medium to the outside of the candle holder.

Measure against the side of the candle holder, then cut. Adhere bark to glass, then tie. Let dry for 24 hours before removing the tie. This is the hardest part. Plop a candle in and light. Piece of cake.

'This is'

'This is' is a weekly posting group I joined. Its my first week participating.

This is the space in which I create...This is my work space, thats not in working order. Under that pile of STUFF is a cute desk I found on the curb for the trash men to collect. As of late this is where the creating happens. Yep, inside the old skull.

Gifting

Paul and Annie share a birthday month. Its a busy time of year around their house, as it is mine.
Paul will be turning 6 in two days, and loves to build forts. He gets in trouble for taking his bed apart to create castles, and army camps in his room. This is the present I thought up for him. Its a fort building kit. It includes: a patchwork mish-mosh of vintage sheets with rings for easy hookage, wondow hooks, magnetic hooks, and clothes pins.
Annie (Oodie) turned 3 yesterday. She is one spunky little lady. She loves all things frilly and pink, and so does her baby doll Paprika. I made 'Prika and Oodie matching dresses. Whats cuter then a dress for a girl and her baby?

Boyfriend of the Week

I am not a big Grey's Anatomy watcher. I was hooked the second season, but my addiction subsided when Grey's time conflicted with my beloved Office.

Meet George O'Malley.

This character is so sweet. I could just pinch him.
