Prototype

I have never sold anything I've made before, and I think Etsy is a good place to start. It will be a good exercise in making and letting go.

Spectacles

Check out these new frames I found last week. I can't wait to get my lenses put in, and have the arms fit to my face. Stay tuned for updates.

Nice Cont'd

When a concept crosses you mind frequently it crosses your path just as much. I have become more attune to the niceness of the world around us since I have discovered and posted about Operation Nice.
-A ban of young people on Market spreading positivity by chanting and asking drivers to honk if they are"Up with Positivity".
-Commuters giving up their seat on public transit for older citizens, and mothers with young children.
-Getting a hug from a stranger on the street after some bad news which brought me to tears.
-Most recently, reading this post and being inspired by the guerrilla art project she perpetuated. Stay tuned for some photos of my own, and keep your eyes peeled if you live in the area.

Here in Philadelphia our city is getting slammed by the current status of our economy, and some tough decisions were made regarding spending. Unfortunatly, 11 libraries will be closed but I believe by supporting the friends of the free library we can lessen that awful number.

Am I hearing used books as holiday gifts?

Lavender

There is a grassy patch across the street from our apartment. We call it the dog park, but its just an area where guys fresh out of college play touch football, and where dog owners bring their pets so they don't forget the smell of nature. There is lavender that grows atop a retention wall. I have been collecting, and drying it in hopes of using it in a project. For now its decorating our book shelf, and hanging on a wire.

Swap Loot

Swap-o-Rama-Rama was a big hit! I had a great time volunteering, swapping and rama-ing. I have finally taken some snaps of the lovely things I attained while at SORR.

The seahorse detail was added using a block print and fabric paint. Under the print is a bleach stain. That's one successful fix up, if you ask me.

I have big plans for these two shirts. They both are much too large for me, but I feel with some adjustments and alterations that they have potential to be summertime favorites.

*The red door I photographed the goodies in front of came with our apartment, and was a main renting point. The door is original to the building, which was a sugar factory in the past.
