Vintage Glasses Part 2

Do you remember these puppies? I finally got around to getting my eyes checked, and some new lenses put in them. Photo 4 (excuse the shitty face).

I accomplished a lot today, despite of the dreary weather. A long-for-me (short-for-others) list was almost all crossed off.

Resolutions 2009-Finally

Tonight I sat down with a pen and a piece of paper to write my 2009 resolutions. Here they are:
-Take Action
Planning is easy for me. Organizing, managing time, creating lists, etc.--no problem. I have been taking the lazy way out more often then not, and would like to get in the habit of following through in what I'd planned.
-Keep In Touch
I go through sperts of self imposed isolation/hibernation/reclusiveness, and I've noticed that friends get a bit ticked off when I have these episodes. Keeping up contact via letters, email, and phone calls will all be on my to-do list in 2009.
-Strech More
Phisical activity that comes with living in a city has left me unflexable compared to last year.
-Make More Art
Simple.
-Read More
Goal: Surpass the number of books read in 2008.

Nice Cont'd

When a concept crosses you mind frequently it crosses your path just as much. I have become more attune to the niceness of the world around us since I have discovered and posted about Operation Nice.
-A ban of young people on Market spreading positivity by chanting and asking drivers to honk if they are"Up with Positivity".
-Commuters giving up their seat on public transit for older citizens, and mothers with young children.
-Getting a hug from a stranger on the street after some bad news which brought me to tears.
-Most recently, reading this post and being inspired by the guerrilla art project she perpetuated. Stay tuned for some photos of my own, and keep your eyes peeled if you live in the area.

Makeup Bag

I use a handful of products daily, and until recently I had no idea the toxicity levels that each item held. I found this cosmetic search engine, Skin Deep, from a web news letter I receive. It was scary to see how toxic my daily routine is. I sharpied the "hazard score" on each package to remind me how much junk I am exposing myself to. I know I should toss these products into the garbage can, but I can't talk myself into wasting that much stuff. When its time to replace, and buy new I'll be sure to check Skin Deep before I purchase anything.

In the future I'd like to keep my scores below a 3, but until then I'll be here using up my toxic products. Yikes!
