What if Money Was No Object

As I'm sure, my dear readers, you have notice the radio silence around these parts. I have been a bit uninspired and kinda busy.  I have been rolling ideas about some posts around in my mind, especially on bike rides, so I have a feeling I'll be back in no time at all.

This video spoke to me. I am weighing out different life/career options. Teaching has been a part of my identity for a long, long time and I know that I want to continue teaching.

Thaumatropes

My students are working on an animation lesson, and we started with thaumatropes. Here is one particular example.


My students are OBSESSED when it comes to me riding a bike and not having a car. They are love to tease me about it so much that I became the subject of a student's Thaumatrope. haha Sometimes I really love my students.

Mannerisms and SEPTA

Earlier this week I had a professional development day where I noticed my mannerisms have been slightly altered. As the speaker was presenting his information I found myself behaving like a watered down vision of my students. Eye contact?-No. Scoffing?-Yes. Eye Rolling?-You bet. I could not believe that I've picked up on these qualities. Then again, its only natural to adapt and pick up behaviors of the people you're with a majority of your day.

Oh, and... as my students would say "Miss, SEPTA's drawn!"

Reasons I'm A Bad Blogger

• I work 3 jobs. I average about 40ish hours a week, however there is no rhyme or reason to my schedual. Working till 4AM isn't an abnormal thing for me, yet the guilt of sleeping past noon always seeps in somehow.
  
• I'm doing lots of doing. A quilt is in the works; a gallery application has a deadline; a special surprise is being made; many job applications, and cover letters are being sent; lost of schmoozing at job fairs by yours truly.
  
• Excluding today, the weather has been lovely. I want to play outside; I don't want to be in front of a screen.

Thats all, and I'm sorry. I'll try to be a better blogger.

Teaching

A few weeks ago I was the semi-long term sub for the art teacher. I loved the experience, and felt so at home in the art room. I created and planned the lessons taught during my time there. I snapped these photos of the hall on my last day as the art teacher's substitute.
