Quick Glimpse

I bought a house in September. It all happened so fast! I was getting ready to renew my lease alone, and rent would be bigger than it has ever been for me. Around the same time (mid July) I got a letter from my bank saying that I could get pre-aproved for a mortgage. I called and they said I could, and gave me some ideas what my price range was considering what I wanted to pay each month/what my salary is. It turned out that my mortgage would be cheaper than rent! Nice.

I then contacted a real estate agent and started looking at some houses. I looked at about 20 houses before I found the one I bought. There were so many that were automatic "NOs". I am picky! So picky that the house I ended up buying was only a maybe at first!

During that looking period I went to Madison, Wisconsin to help my sister get ready for her wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, and we all were super busy, but all I could think about was the little house with the overgrown garden and floating stairs. I was in contact with my real estate agent who discouraged me to put an offer down. I was so worried that someone would snatch that gem of a house from me! Since this agent was not willing to go along with my full steam ahead plan I contacted an old co-worked who also have a real estate license.

When I got back to Philly I put an offer down right away! I looked at the house again- I just knew that this could be my home.

The process to get a mortgage was annoying, but well worth it. When it was all said and done I had a great house!

I have been shy about showing it off because I have been slowly getting into tip top shape. Here is a little glimpse of my bedroom. It is 90% done. I still have to add wallpaper (a pretty blue/teal and gold design) to the lower portion of the wall. I also have to get motivated to lay the rug down under all the furniture.

I just set up the book closet this weekend and can not tell you how much I LOVE waking up to see books in a jewel box of a built in!
