Eastern State Pentitiary

Last night I went to Eastern State Penitentiary here in Philly to experience Terror Behind the Walls haunted house. For those of you who know me you're prably thing this was the most stupid outing ever for lil' old me. I am the biggest freakin' chicken. Horror movies make my heart rate jump through the roof, and I even had to bail out when I went to a haunted house as a teenager!
Well, I worked up the courage to go and it was actually really fun! I screamed so much that my voice was scratchy. So scratchy that I had to have a delicious pumpkin pie beverage at Jack's Firehouse across the street!

I should really try more things out of my comfort zone, I might end up having a good time!

Extreme Couponing

I know, I know extreme couponing sounds so soccer mom, but I have been a bargain shopper (read: cheap skate) forever. I am a saver since the beginning; since I've had a piggy bank.
The new trend in the penny-pincher circle is extreme coupon shopping. I have learned a few things, and made a killing this weekend!

Above is everything I bought at CVS over the weekend. Without coupons and sales it would have been $110.69. With a little research, some couponing, and a dash of self-check out I spent only $30.04!!! Whoa, baby! That's a pretty great deal if you ask me!!

Being Alone

I enjoy being alone. There is peace, and freedom in it. This video sums it up well.

ipad

When I fist heard of the ipad I was not impressed. Blah, blah, new apple gadget- so what? I felt that way until Thursday when Ry and I found ourselves in the Apple store. Once I sat down at the table of magnificent tablets I was hooked. It is a glorious invention that's really fun, and nifty to play with. My reaction was much like this tykes.

Unsilent Night

Last night Ryan and I walked around Rittenhouse with about 100 other Philadelphians. We spread cheer and holiday joy with a 1960's Happenings vibe. It was neat to see the reactions, which ranged from excited and curious, to confused and freaked out. Amazing.

It was well worth the coughing fit I had during the walk, the coughing at school, and a trip to the doctor. I really should be listening more to my body. Slow down, self.

Vacation

I am really close to the family I babysat for in the past. They are really like a second family to me. I love the kids.
Every year since I met them, they have asked me to join them on thier yearly retreat to the beach.

Staycation

Philadelphia is a beautiful city. Ryan and I needed a break, and decided to pinch pennies a bit by staying in our city to take in its splendor.
We spent time:
Cafe Ole', Philadelphia, Pa. here
Bus Tour of Philadelphia Double Decker Bus riding one of these!!
Checking out the Rosenbach Museum.
Looking at trees at the Jenkins Arboretum.
Not having to cook!
and being kinda romantic like.
