Side Gig

I paint faces as a side job. I got into it a couple years back when I really needed the extra cash. Now I do it for fun, and I'm pretty good at it. Sometimes the party goes late, and we are stay until the very end when the party gets broken down. When that happens everything gets thrown out, including the flowers. It's always a good idea to make nice with the staff, so they won't think your a complete weirdo when you ask for the flowers. I painted a Mitzvah yesterday, and picked up these beauties. Sweet!

Party Time

It was my birthday on June 20th, and also Father's Day. Its a tricky time to have a birthday, so I opted to have a party on the 26th instead. I invited what seemed like a gazillion people, but knowing me and my luck only a handful showed up. Don't fret people because this handful of people were quite the bunch! I had a great time, and all my guests got along swimmingly!
Let me tell you, it is hard working getting ready for a party. The planning, buying of food and drink, cleaning, decorating, cooking. After all of that I was ready for a nap. The layer cake took the longest since I only have two pans, but it was obviously well worth it!

About two weeks ago I finished hand sewing the binding on our quilt. Every night as we caught up on Mad Men episodes I'd sew. Finally, its done. Its so cozy!
